On 12 August 2023, at the launch of ISD 2.0 at International School Dhaka announced their collaboration with Barcelona football academy and Crick Kingdom cricket academy by Rohit Sharma.

CricKingdom is a cricket academy that has collaborated with more than five countries including Bangladesh.

Crikingdom is a cricket academy that is the World’s first platform that connects cricket with players, coaches, students, academics & facilities into a fully integrated ecosystem that drives seamless engagement, interaction, learning & transaction.

A cricket academy that is purely data-driven might sound futuristic but crickingdom is making it possible for everyone involved with their program. Introducing Data points for kids helps them learn a lot quicker and helps them focus on solutions for the exact problems they’re facing. As someone who grew up playing in academies where you only focus on certain things rather than working on improving your overall skill.

Director Parag Dhaiwal, also a co-founder of Crickingdom, who was present at the opening ceremony of ISD 2.0 mentioned “We’re going to have an exclusive program which will be during school. So for during school students, there will be softball sessions where we’ll train all the kids on the basics of cricket and then the after-school sessions will be “professional” academy set up.”

There are already 2 nets for batting practice and a huge field available for outfield training. Dhaiwal went on to explain how they have a specialised app designed just for crickingdom, that helps the students, parents and coaches to keep track of progress. There’s also video support available. Even payments can be done through this app. Coupled with their certified coaches Crickingdom truly is a futuristic academy for the next generation of cricketers. Former Bangladesh Coach Dave Whatmore is also involved with the coaching of the academy.

There’s also exchange program between the academies where kids will be able to go abroad and kids from other academies can come to Bangladesh. This creates a knowledge exchange that can help any young cricketer’s growth.

Crickingdom is opening its doors on the 1st of September 2023. ISD students get to enjoy the weekday sessions and children who aren’t in ISD get to be part of the weekend program.

“Rohit is not just the brand ambassador of the company but also an advisor of the Crickingdom global Board” said Dhaiwal explaining Rohit Sharma’s involvement with the academy and he also mentioned that Rohit usually visits the academies whenever he can. He is also involved with mentoring students.
ISD doesn’t have a cricket team at the moment, the current goal is to set up U-12s, U-14s and U-16s teams for the school, so the kids can get exposure to playing set ups regularly and it will help them participate in crickingdom global events.

ISD have students from more than 25 countries. Director Steve Calland-Scoble explained it was important to give these students exposure to these international organisations and collaboration through the school with these organisations helps them form their own outlook on International. Steve hopes these collaborations will help ISD students break into perspective national teams in the future.
